Topic: School Uniforms
Position Paper
The topic I will be discussing is school uniforms. Some may like them and some may not. Here is my opinion. One student thinks that students in schools all over America should have the right to wear what they want to wear to school; that children should have the right to wake up and ask themselves, ‘What should I wear to school today’?
I agree with that student. I know that adults & parents are going to say that this is a bad idea because they think that they are going to have to buy their child brand new clothes. But what they don’t understand is the fact that their child already has perfectly good clothes to wear . I also have the response of one teacher from my school.
Her name is Ms. Denise (Amber Charter School’s Technology teacher.) Ms. Denise does not like the idea of not having school uniforms because she feels that the best gang to belong to is school. She also feels that if students get to wear what they want to school they will get into things that they don’t need to get into.
I understand where she is coming from, but students should have freedom, yes students have a lot of freedom but what about the freedom of dress? Another thing, a lot of teachers have said that we should keep school uniform because it is tradition (at my school) but as President Barack Obama once said: “It’s time for CHANGE”.
One last thing before I go many teachers at my school voted for Barack Obama as Presdient of the United Staes of America because he can bring change , the teachers at my school do not want to change the uniform policy; but I hope the teachers at my school take this change into consideration .

I am in favor of recycling because I want a clean environment so I can breathe precisely on Earth. I don’t like that most of the pollution comes from evaporated petroleum products such as the things that famers use. What’s so amazing is that we recycled 95% of aluminum! Now I know that you guys were listening to me .We need to start recycling paper because we only recycled 65% of paper this year.
There are many ways that you can save the world such as cleaning up the park and at the same time you are teaching the kids the thing to do instead of littering on the floor. Some things can be saved and this is called conservation. Please try to keep the environment clean because you are not the only person in the world. Turning off the water faucet saves 9 gallons of water. The things I don’t like are that 40% of pure water flushes down your toilet. We really need to step- up our game because we running out of time.
I am of both minds, I am also against recycling; because some things do not have to be recycled and this called non-renewable. I will give you an example such as Styrofoam. If you do recycle Styrofoam, it is called land pollution .Metal is part of it, but it does need to be recycled. I do not know people continue to destroy the wonderful environment that has been created by a special person.

First African-American President
Some people might think that it was a dreadful idea to elect Barack Obama President because he was black and he could get lethargic. I strongly disagree with that. I think Obama is a very good man. It was once said that the day an African-American would become president would be the day pigs fly. On the 100th day after Barack Obama became president; swine flu!
I think people should be inspired that he just doesn’t quit. I know some people think that people of African descents should still be slaves. They don’t know how it feels to be a slave. I don’t know either but I think it is worse than I can imagine. I think that they should also know he has been to Indonesia, was born inside of the United States, and even though he had a African father he was born to a white mother and grandparents.
Even though he has not proved himself green enough to the environment; he stills tries to help the economy besides the fact many people are against him. Barack Obama has a water dog. But it is a cool dog. He was a senator in Illinois. He belongs to a democratic party.
He is already an author of two books. He went against John McCain. John McCain is a wonderful man. He is a lefty (left-handed). But there is a rumor that left-handed people are smarter than modern man.
Barack Obama seems smarter than George Bush Jr. to me. I know Barack Obama has been through a lot but that is still not an excuse. Barack Obama’s mother got divorced with Barack Obama Sr. from Kenya and then married again with another man and moved into Indonesia. He has two kids and a wife named Michelle. Although another thing is that some people think he might not be green enough. Is he really going to let his schedule stop him from helping the environment?
These days you better pay attention to the environment .I have a feeling nature is not the only one causing catastrophe in the environment. I think Obama should fix this problem. He is the president of the United States. I know when one thing in the world is changed everything is affected.
This is a really a big problem. I think if Barack Obama can be the best president he needs to help everything. You can’t just do one thing and expect everything else to be done for you. You got to be more aware. Doing that is like giving one of your children away.
I don’t think Barack Obama would like to give up one of his daughters. It just can’t be done. What can be done is making him a better president. So go out there Barack Obama and start the change if you can. Like you said “Yes we can”!

I think that school uniforms are a good thing because some students get harassed for the clothes that they wear. It also saves your parents a lot of time and money. Furthermore, some kids get beat up for the clothes they wear. Some students hide drugs and weapons in their clothes. Studies showed that about 60% of students wore their pants hanging down below their waistlines.
Wearing uniforms is a little fun because you could probably hook-up your uniforms so it won’t be so boring wearing just your average stuff. Very few schools give you dress-down-day every last Friday in the month. I and the kids in my school are very fortunate to be in one.
Studies show that the style of wearing their pants hanging down came from jail and I don’t know why someone would want to follow a person that was in prison.
Some girls under the age of 18 reveal their stomachs because they want boys to see them as women. Wearing all of those short and tight shirts makes you uncomfortable. Wearing those tight outfits can make you get an infection and then you can get sick. Then that will force you to stop wearing it.

I am in favor of technology. People need technology to make their lives less exhausting. Technology is happiness to people because technology helps them get through to a lot of events in their daily lives. Our communities are working on many diverse uses for technology; for example the utility companies (Con Edison, Brooklyn Union Gas) seen their meter readers out with hand-held devises to read the gas and electric meters in our houses. People need technology in the event of an emergency. Hospital’s use of technology is one of the main reasons more lives are being saved at a higher rate.
The use of technology in schools is very important. The use of computers in the classroom has been responsible for students improving in their core educational learning areas. Most students my age can learn about education and search for colleges and great schools.
The population for technology is high and very reasonable people all around the world use technology for most of the things they do. The population of the technology will increase if the people who sell technology lower there price and come with new technology like a radio that you can download music on to. Some people buy a lot of technology because they really need it during college when you have to do a report on Obama and Hillary. Many people buy laptops so they can bring technology with them a laptop is a device that you can bring with you. There’s a device called a cell phone people use cell phones for emergencies and communication.
I like technology because I like to study a lot of things like science you can look up a lot of about science like how can you compare a regular rock to a crystal. Some think that technology is not that great because sometimes you can get a virus or the computer needs a rebooting. People say if you buy a computer it will cost too much and if you get on websites your not suppose to go on you will get a virus. The reason people like technology because it helps them se a better side.
A lot of people say that cars are really bad for the earth because it is polluting gas in our city and gas can really kill you because it can hurt your lungs in your body. The reason I like technology is because it helps other people do there work and I want people to go to college and learn and be successful in there future.

I also feel sorry for the people that are in the Army because they are risking their lives for this country. I also believe that Obama will do the best that he can because he does not have to rush to get everything done. He has four years to undo eight years of damage.
I hope that everyone is happy with our President now because he is making best of both worlds from being the President and a father to Mila and Sasha, and even a good husband to Michelle Obama. I trust that President Obama will run for President again because I’m excited that he is president and I know that others are as well.
